Production Operative

Grant Westfield, the company behind the UK’s best-selling brand of waterproof wall panels, Multipanel and Naturepanel, is looking for Production Operators to join their team in the heart of Edinburgh, to undertake a variety of tasks in support of the overall production and dispatch operation, ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety regulations.

Line Manager: Production/Dispatch Team Leader

  • Rotational Shifts : 06 00 – 14 00 / 14 00 - 22 00). ROP - £12.60 per hour PLUS 18% Shift Allowance

There are two Production Operative roles available.

Key responsibilities:

To undertake a variety of tasks in support of the overall production and dispatch operation, ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety regulations.

  • General Labouring duties including, removing packaging, opening crates, feeding machinery with panels, unloading machinery with panels, wrapping pallets, flipping laminate sheets together.
  • Assisting machine operators in assembling products.
  • Sorting, picking, packing and loading orders for dispatch.
  • Moving stock around, either by hand, in accordance with manual handling procedure, or using lifting equipment.
  • Carrying out product quality inspections.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of stock and carrying out stock counts, as required.
  • Finishing products to a consistently high standard.
  • Monitoring the production process and carrying out basic testing and quality tests.
  • Reporting equipment faults to maintenance staff.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Operating in a safe manner complying with all Health, Safety and Environment requirements to ensure own and safety of others

 

The successful candidate’s profile:

Skills and experience:

Essential

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Fit for manual handling.

Desirable:

  • Current forklift truck certification and/or qualification to drive assisted lift equipment.
