HR Advisor

As HR Advisor you will provide high-quality HR advice to managers and employees, support employee relations and absence management, attend formal meetings, manage recruitment and payroll processes. The role will also support the development and execution of the learning and development plan.

36.5 hour per week

Key Responsibilities

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • HR advisory service: Deliver efficient and high-quality advice to managers and employees on various HR matters, ensuring alignment with HR policies and procedures.
  • Employee relations: Provide support for employee relations cases across the business.
  • Absence management: Implement absence management policies for both short- and long-term absenteeism.
  • Meeting support: Attend formal meetings as HR support and minute taker.
  • Recruitment management: Collaborate with the HR Administrator to manage the recruitment process, aiming to improve candidate quality and reduce agency fees.
  • Payroll administration: Oversee the administration of the payroll process on the ADP system, ensuring accuracy for final approval by the HR Manager and Finance Director.
  • Learning & development: Source funding for L&D courses to meet development needs.
  • Policy Review: Assist the HR Manager in reviewing HR policies to comply with ISO9001 standards.
  • HR projects: Participate in various HR projects as directed by the HR Manager.
  • Annual HR tasks: Support the implementation of annual HR tasks, such as salary reviews and holiday purchases.
  • Additional duties: Perform other reasonable duties as required by management, including deputising for the HR Manager when necessary.

The successful candidate’s profile:

Skills and Experience:

Essential

  • Experience in a similar role, with experience in management of complex casework
  • Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure and manage own workload
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrates strong initiative and sound judgement
  • Experienced in handling sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Approachable, professional and capable of communicating with people at all levels of the business

Desirable

  • Experience in an organisation of a similar size.
  • Familiarity with the ADP payroll platform.
  • Experience in Learning and Development (L&D)
