Accounts Assistant

The Accounts Assistant will support the finance team on a day-to-day basis supporting UK & Europe key activities across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Month End Processes and Reporting.

This is an important role in Grant Westfield covering maternity leave and will initially be on a 10-month fixed term contract. We require someone with hands on experience from a similar background who is a team player with a keen eye on the detail.

Key Responsibilities

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the preparation of Monthly Management reporting.
  • Responsible for all journal entries and Balance Sheet reconciliations inclusive of reporting and review process to ensure accuracy.
  • Process Invoices accurately and timely and work with various business stakeholders on any queries.
  • Preparation of VAT Returns and EC Sales Lists. Working closely with external accountants to ensure compliance with key requirements and deadlines.
  • Stakeholder management with key external relationships including customers, suppliers, auditors, and banking.
  • Manage and improve internal controls and procedures within the Finance Function

The successful candidate’s profile:

Skills and Experience:

  • +2 years’ experience in a similar finance role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organised and can take ownership and pride in their work.
  • A keen eye for detail and experience of interpretating large quantities of data.
  • Team player who can support the wider finance team in a fast-paced environment.
  • ERP systems knowledge (such as Epicor, Oracle).
