Quality Control Operator - Day Shift

Lead and manage NCR processes in line with company’s quality standards to minimise rejects throughout production processes.

Day shift: 06:00 – 16:30

 

Key responsibilities:

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, noting deviations or defects found to ensure traceability and quality control.
  • Communicate identified defects promptly to supervisors and production operators to provide relevant feedback and training.
  •  Collaborate on corrective actions for timely resolution.
  • Develop and manage NCR process with assistance of Production Manger to improve data capturing for nonconforming products.
  • Develop and implement effective protocols to optimize inspection processes and enhance product quality.
  • Analyse quality-related customer concerns, identify root causes, and collaborate on solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols during inspections and production activities to promote a secure workplace for all personnel.
  • Accurate raising of NCR’s for Edinburgh site, including disposition and subsequent actions.
  • Any additional duties as required by the business.

 

The successful candidate’s profile:

Skills and experience:

  • Experience of working in a process or manufacturing role for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Ability to cope with a demanding workload, and conflicting priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Performs tasks accurately and thoroughly; double-checks the accuracy of work and adjusts to ensure expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Able to address non-conformance via structured problem solving (rapid problem solving, 8D or similar).
  • Able to draw appropriate conclusions from data and prioritize action accordingly.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Confident to support and influence continuous improvement activities.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with determination to achieve deadlines.
  • Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (ideally Epicor).

Qualifications:

Desirable:

  • Counterbalance forklift licence
  • Lean / six sigma experience
